Cyber For Students is a free online program for high school students around the world! The program includes workshops, capture the flag challenges, personal workstations and more. During our workshops students get to explore their computer terminals, searching for hidden keys placed in their stations while being taught lessons from our amazing and highly qualified teacher (check out the team profile). The program started after one of our co-founders struggled to get into the cybersecurity community, realizing there was a lack of many opportunities in her area. As a result, our goal is to give students the opportunity to learn about an important and explored part of the technology community! The program was created mid-pandemic in 2021 and was aimed to be an inclusive program for students of all learning levels and technological abilities.

Stephanie Gao is a co-founder of Cyber For Students. Along with Mary and Nick, she started the program in 2021 in her last year of middle school. She started the program after she realized how hard it was to get started in the tech community in her city (especially cybersecurity). To make other students’ search for these opportunities easier as well as to spread knowledge in a growing field of technology, she set out to create Cyber For Students. Stephanie helps with marketing, and organizational things and she’s also the web designer of this amazing website (I hope you like it <3 ). Some interesting facts about her are that she's Mary's younger sister and that she likes dancing, drawing and crying while watching k-dramas.

Mary Gao_
Manager | Co-Founder
Mary Gao is a co-founder of Cyber For Students. Along with Mary and Nick, she started the program in 2021 in her last year/semester of University. Mary graduated from Harvard in Computer Science/Philosophy and continues on to work for General Catalyst. She is a STEM icon who is passionate about promoting the development of technology such as cryptocurrency. Along with Stephanie, she helps manage many aspects of the program such as marketing, the applications etc. She is a leader and manager who holds the team together (and keeps Stephanie on track). Some interesting facts about her are that she has her own Youtube channel that has a variety of amazing videos: Mary XG.

Nick Wong_
Teacher | Co-Founder
Nick Wong is a co-founder of Cyber For Students. Along with Mary and Stephanie, he started the program in 2021 in his first year after University. Nick also graduated from Harvard in Computer Science/Biomedical Engineering and he is an ex-Google employee. He is a tech genius who not only helped teach some Harvard CS classes, he also founded Harvard's cybersecurity club. A highly qualified instructor, Nick is the teacher for Cyber For Students who created the elaborate sylLabus and teaches all the workshops (he also created your stations and challenges. A true catalyst in technology, an interesting fact is that he quit his job at Google to start his new innovative, unique and growing cybersecurity company: Crosswire.
